History
Hopkins Student Movers was originally founded in 2006 by a group of Johns Hopkins students who wanted to provide summer storage for their classmates. The business was called Hopkins Student Storage and quickly became a trusted and convenient storage option for Hopkins students. In 2010, Fentress Boyse (KSAS ‘12, SAIS ‘13) expanded HSS’ services to include office moving and renamed the business Hopkins Student Movers. Hopkins Student Movers is now well established within the Johns Hopkins community. Each year, the business is handed down to a new group of budding entrepreneurs to give them real world management experience. Hopkins Student Movers is part of Hopkins Student Enterprises (HSE), which was established through the Center for Leadership Education in the Whiting School of Engineering. HSE offers students from all different disciplines real-world entrepreneurial and leadership experience, provides a source of employment and income for students of the University and delivers valuable products and services that benefit the greater Johns Hopkins community. Most importantly, HSE fosters student innovation and encourages the development of new businesses on campus.
